For several years, I have been observing a profound crisis in our societal values. The importance of truth-telling and the moral courage to address societal, communal, and national issues—advocating for ethical living, following the right path, avoiding shortcuts, rewarding merit, and recognizing human dignity—are now often dismissed as outdated. Disturbingly, when someone among us dares to stand up for these principles, we tend to silence them, warning that they might upset powerful players and their interests. This disturbing trend of not pointing out and correcting the wrongdoings of individuals, groups, and countries is giving them the impression that they are untouchable. They begin to believe they can exploit others at will, or worse, that their actions are justified. This growing impunity is not just a moral failure but a dangerous path that undermines justice and fairness in our society. Unfortunately, this crisis has not stopped at our doorstep but has infiltrated our families...
